K-TEK
K-TEK is a biotech corporation based in Zaitopia.
Overview
Founded sometime around DAC5203, K-TEK is a small biotech company that specializes in creating affordable, user-friendly Kreatures and Kreature taming gear for the civilian sector. It stands in opposition to Synthogen, a much larger company with more mainstream recognition; there is a perception among consumers that K-TEK is a cheap knockoff brand. Kristy has been a fixture at the company since DAC5205, starting out as a middle manager in the Kreature Development department. K-TEK was run independently at first, but in DAC5210 it was purchased by an Akatorian conglomerate, Zolton Unlimited, which intended to sell off the company's assets. However, Vanessa, the daughter of Zolton's CEO, took an interest in the company and was granted ownership of it. After the buyout, Kristy was promoted to Executive of Kreature Development.
Most of the Kreatures grown by K-TEK are modified proprietary strains of existing species, but they have created some new species of their own - most notably Pandeddi, which they still own the patent for and is one of their top sellers. Since the buyout, they've expanded their operations to encompass Kreature taming gear, food, and apparel.
