A fleet-footed herbivorous mammal of the open plains, characterized by their shaggy fetlocks and hairy chins, which are possessed by both sexes. They share characteristics of both horses and donkeys, though they are not mules. Originally native to the Shigdar Plains of Akatoria, they've been introduced to Zaitopia, Badonlas, Lenlaria and Rikenga. Domesticated breeds are used as mounts, as pack animals, and are also occasionally slaughtered for food; in Dimentiara's western hemisphere, no cultural taboo developed against eating horse meat.
