Billaine Town
Billaine Town is a small town located in the Zaitopian province of Eastern Zaitopia. The hometown of Ben Weiss, Billaine is relatively isolated in the foothills of the Sawtooth Mountains, about 20 minutes by Maglev northwest of Zaito City. It was originally a settlement built near a small K-Gem mine, which has long since been picked clean and shut down for decades. It was never a very large community and since the mines were closed the town has been undergoing a steady decline. It has a population of less than 6000 residents and only a handful of local businesses which struggle to get by; young people opt to move away and seek better prospects elsewhere. The western outskirts of Billaine are mostly abandoned thanks to holes in the Anti-Kreature perimeter which the town hasn't been able to afford to fix; as a result, Feral Kreatures just wander in and out unhindered. Fencing that was meant to have been temporary and a small team of Kreature Trackers are the only thing defending the town's remaining eastern half. Drab, run down and governed by ambivalent leadership, it seems inevitable that Billaine will become a ghost town in just a generation or two.
