Due to the extreme threat posed not only by free-roaming Kreatures but also by unauthorized Kreature Tamers, security in Dimentiara is taken very seriously. A high ranking Kreature on the rampage can easily destroy an entire city if it isn't stopped in time.

Cities, towns and villages are typically enclosed within any number of protective barriers, including forcefield-reinforced walls, trenches, moats and even entire fields of sessile plant-type Battle Kreatures. Forcefield domes can be projected above individual city blocks to counter bombardments from above. Closely monitored underground tunnels are usually the only way in and out of these citadels. High tech scanners which can detect K-Gem signatures and genetic markers are placed at checkpoints to monitor whoever (or whatever) comes in or out. Patrols consisting of Kreature Trackers map out the territories and monitor the migration patterns of free-roaming Kreatures in the surrounding areas and will issue warnings to the populace.

In order to prevent unregistered Kreatures from being smuggled into citadels, Tamers must secure authorization in advance before bringing their Kreatures with them. Concealing a K-Storage device is illegal under international law. In the past, K-Squares were carried on belts, or in special translucent pockets or pouches. Tamer Amulets comply with laws against concealed-carry and are more practical and stylish. Amulets are usually worn as part of a necklace or inset into the collar of a shirt, but may sometimes be worn as a headband or a tiara so long as it's visible.

This system is highly effective, but it isn't flawless. To limit energy costs, forcefields are pressure sensitive to prevent them from being triggered by raindrops, snowflakes, falling leaves, etc. Infant Kreatures, too small to trigger forcefields or be noticed by patrols, may fly over a citadel's walls, hitch rides in the undercarriages of vehicles, or hide in the landing gear of aircraft. Once inside they may grow to full size and pose a threat to civilians. Kreatures may also infiltrate through holes in the forcefield, such as storm drains and sewers. Subterranean Kreatures may burrow into citadels. Amorphous, blob-like Kreatures such as Slimok or Gasplorg may even find their way in through plumbing.

A number of solutions have been proposed, from additional patrols, to high resolution surveillance cameras to forcefields with DNA scanners. Implementation of these techniques across the nations of Dimentiara and their reception by the public has varied. Democratic nations such as Zaitopia have had concerns over privacy and civil liberties and these policies have been generally unpopular wherever they've been put in place. Authoritarian nations such as Rikenga and Lenlaria have embraced this technology with gusto as a pretense for cracking down on dissent.
