This species of house gecko is endemic to Isla Basaltros, and the most common species of lizard to be found on the island. Originally native to the rainforests of the island's interior, they've also become abundant in the orchards and settlements that have been built along its southern shores. They'll wander indoors to feed on cockroaches, spiders, moths and flies; tourists may be startled to see them brazenly scuttling around on walls and windows, but the locals pay them no mind. They readily breed in captivity and Gallos Geckos are a fixture in the Dimentiaran pet trade.
