Dimentiara Exodus

The Dimentiara Exodus is a major historical event in which the last remnants of humankind escaped to Dimentiara.

Overview

The catalyst of the event was the sudden annihilation of Terra, the homeworld of humankind. Whatever its fate, be it by asteroid impact or an apocalyptic war, every living thing on Terra was completely wiped out. The only surviving humans were those living off-world in nearby space colonies. Stranded in space with their resources suddenly cut off, their only option was to make use of experimental Dimensional Travel technology that was being developed for interstellar transportation.

Using intra-dimensional travel to find some other planet to live on was determined to be unfeasible, as terraforming such a world would require a supply line that no longer existed and centuries which they did not have. The only viable alternative was to use inter-dimensional travel to escape to another version of earth in some alternate reality. They knew of exactly one.

The dimensional travel technology development bureau had used their quantum computer to peer into alternate realities before. Most of the other parallel earths they found were barren. Versions of earth with only single-celled life; versions of earth with unbreathable atmospheres because plants never evolved; versions of earth that got cooked by solar flares; etc. Dimentiara was the first alternate version of earth they found which was habitable, and it was the only one they'd found before the circumstances that led to Terra's destruction. Due to the sheer vastness of the multiverse, it was possible that without some kind of multiversal map that it would take them eons to find another by random chance.

Ultimately, the decision was made to cross over to Dimentiara, and this event came to be known as the Dimentiara Exodus.
