Although Eteep was purportedly designed to be a pet, in practice it's more like a parasite. Synthogen intended for it to be a cute and cuddly companion that would also hold cross-demographic appeal for hobbyist Kreature Tamers, but in their rush to get it on the market it came with a litany of design flaws. It's noisy, smelly, eats a lot, shits a lot, humps legs, shreds furniture, chews on cables, sheds all over the place, and on top of all that it's even a fire hazard. It's also extraordinarily fecund and all it took were a handful of dissatisfied customers releasing their pet Eteeps into the wild for them to establish feral populations and become pests. Fortunately, feral Eteeps have no shortage of predators. It was a huge PR disaster but Synthogen did manage to find a use for their excess stock and recoup their financial losses; Teepstop is now one of Dimentiara's most lucrative fast food franchises.
